Words can not describe the loss we are feeling with the sudden passing away of Ian Farrier on December 8th last year. The messages of condolence and support have been overwhelming and humbling for the Farrier family, and we are extremely grateful for them. The wonderful comments we continue to receive show the mark of a wonderful contributor to the multihull sailing world. Ian leaves behind a legacy of design genius and occupies a permanent place in multihull history. But the Ian Farrier story is far from over.
As Ian would have wanted, the F-22 program continues on, indeed 2018 is the year F-22 production will be significantly cranked up, and that is exactly what we are doing. Farrier Marine has a small dedicated team of professional boat builders and that team is expanding. Our suppliers are on board, and we are single-mindedly focused on getting high quality F-22 sailboats to their new prospective owners as soon as possible. We appreciate the considerable patience shown by our customers, as Ian concluded the nearly two decade development of the F-22. Now it is time to get as many of them sailing around the world as we can, in honor of Ian Farrier.
On the general F-Boat scene, Ian was a huge supporter of the F-Boat fraternity, constantly available to consult on a massive range of issues. With 1,000’s of F-Boats sailing today, that is a big task. We will do our best to maintain this level of support and contact, however will be relying on the various F-Boat forums to play a strong part in this, which we greatly appreciate.
