Another Atlantic Crossing by an F-36

Tom McLuskie has just crossed the Atlantic in his F-36 Hei Matau, while taking part in the 2008 ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Rodney Bay in St.Lucia (Lesser Antilles).

race (while passing a Jeanneau 49)

It was a slow event this year, with HEI MATAU taking 19 1/2 days for the 2700 mile passage, but finished 5th over the line out of 13 multihull starters, even though the smallest multihull taking part.

Future plans are to take part in Antigua Race Week at the end of April, then join ARC Europe back to Europe, sailing from BVI to Bermuda, Bermuda to the Azores, and then either back to home port at Port Edgar (just outside of Edinburgh, Scotland), or on to the Mediterranean for the summer.
